摘要

It has become a recurring theme of Cranes Today's annual safety conferences that cranes do not cause accidents. People cause accidents, and often not because of anything they do wrong but because of something they have not done at all, probably because of an absence of thinking ahead. This year's Crane Safety conference, held in London on 22 and 23 June, re-emphasised this point and moved it forward. "After 25 years in the industry I have yet to experience an accident where the crane was at fault," said Soren Jansen, who for the past 11 years has been managing director of Denmark largest mobile crane rental company, BMS. He was previously a senior manager with a leading crane manufacturer, working in Europe and the USA.
