Bob Gannicott (1946-2016): gold and diamond hunter

Robert A. ('Bob') Gannicott was a larger-than-life figure who literally put Canadian diamonds on the map. He died at the relatively young age of 69 at his home in Wells, Somerset, UK, after battling leukaemia. Bob was both an old-time prospector-with a gold pan in his hands sampling stream sediments in the Arctic-and a modern business executive: head of Harry Winston Diamonds in New York, a firm dubbed 'Jeweller to the Stars'.
