Over 20% drop in 2018; minor drop in 2019

Demand for gas filters suddenly increased in 2017, leading to increase production at the start of 2018 by many companies. However, demand fell rapidly from the summer of 2018 and dropped to around half of the scheduled amount in the last half of the year. Overall the year reached ￥8.7 billion, which was a drop of 23% from the previous year. Both Nippon Seisen Cable and Pureron Japan implemented additional investments in sintering furnaces in 2018 to double production capacity, but even then a shadow began to appear on demand.
