Kanto Denka Kogyo: Continued capital investment in fluorine-based specialty gases Operation of first overseas specialty gas production center to start in South Korea in 2019
Looking at Kanto Denka Kogyo's recent business performance, what is most obvious is the upward adjustments to their performance predictions almost every quarter. Behind those adjustments is the recovery in sales of the fluorine-based specialty gases handled by their Fine Chemicals Division. Nobutaka Takahashi, Director and Managing Executive Officer in the Sales Division for Kanto Denka Kogyo, starts by saying,”We base predictions on investigations into user capital investment scales and actual contract contents, so our predictions are by no means naive”and adds,”The main demand for our nitrogen trifluoride(NF3) and tungsten hexafluoride(WF6), which are performing the best of any of our products, is for production of 3D-NAND flash memory devices. As you can see from the increasing number of layers, memory manufacturers are continually developing new technology and processes. The consumption of NFa and WF6 in that dynamism is expanding far faster than anticipated.”
