Lower GI bleeding makes up about 20% of all acute GI bleeding.1 Endoscopy remains a cornerstone of both diagnosis and therapy, especially for treatable lesions such as angiodysplasia, selected cases of diverticulosis, and bleeding after polypectomy.2 Traditionally, therapeutic modalities have been divided into thermal applications (contact and non-contact), injection, and mechanical devices such as clips. Recently, a novel hemostatic device has been introduced. TC-325 (Hemospray; Cook Medical, Winston-Salem, NC) is made up of an inorganic powder that adheres to blood and tissue, forming a mechanical barrier that results in hemostasis.
