China’s Domestic Output Ramps Up as Demand Increases

AME forecasts global export thermal coal supply to increase 1.8% to 1.02Bt in 2018, with around 64Mt ofadditional capacity planned to be added to the market. Only ~14Mt will come from new projects, with the majorityto come from brownfield expansions from Indonesia, Australia and Colombia. Export supply is expected to grow afurther 2.1% in 2019, to 1.04Bt, with a further 57Mt additional export capacity planned.
