GPSC Proposes Revised FHSA Definition of 'Strong Sensitizers'

The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC or Commission) has published a proposed rulemaking to revise its supplemental definition of "strong sensitizer" under the Federal Hazardous Substances Act (FHSA). At the same time, the CPSC issued a guidance document, further clarifying the "strong sensitizer" definition to assist manufacturers in understanding how the CPSC staff would assess whether a substance and/or product containing that substance should be considered a strong sensitizer. Some ILMA members' products are subject to the CPSC jurisdiction.
