This month s column contains my personal observations on public policy making here in Washington, D.C. with the new Congress starting this month. Over the holidays, 1 spoke with a number of colleagues in the trade association and legal communities, and there is a uniform sentiment (even from hardcore Democrats) that they are counting the days until President Obama leaves office in January 2017. At the same time, with Republicans in control of the House and Senate, industry groups expect there will be more support for issues on their agendas this coming year.
