Puglia-based producer organisation Apirene Puglia (APOP), which specialises in the sale and export of seedless table grapes, will take part in this year's Fruit Logistica as it bids to build on the recent success of its export programme to key European markets including the UK. Over the next two years, Apirene expects a further 30ha of grape production to come online in Italy, adding to its existing SOha of marketable production. The company will also continue to extend its sourcing and supply business through Latitude, a project aimed at linking customers to suppliers not only in Italy but also in Egypt, Spain and Greece. "Thanks to the arrival of new member companies, our business is expanding and so Fruit Logistica will provide us with a good platform for establishing new contact with clients," says APOP marketing manager Amleto Elia (above).
