Citrus giants tap blueberry potential: With blueberry demand soaring in Northern Hemisphere markets, many of Argentina's citrus exporters are diversifying production in order to make gains on the lucrative market

Around 50 companies from Argentina will exhibit at this year's Fruit Logistica. As the world's leading lemon supplier, it's no surprise a strong delegation of citrus exporters will journey to Berlin. But, more interestingly, many will also be there toseek opportunities for their blueberry trade. Eurofruit Magazine speaks to some of the key players. Argentinean citrus exporter Citromax has exhibited at Fruit Logistica since 2004 and this year plans to promote its expanding berry business at the three-day event. "During 2008 we built a new packhouse to support the growth of our blueberry offer," reveals commercial manager Carlos Bertolotti (pictured). "The plan is to continue growing exports, which is why we're looking to open up new markets and consolidate existing presence while at Fruit Logistica this year."
