Therapeutic usage of wild flowers by the tribals of Bargarhdistrict, Odisha

摘要

The present paper documents information on ethnomedicinal uses of wild flowering plants collected from different tribal and rural inhabitants of Bargarh district in western part of Odisha. The paper reports 22 plant species belonging to 19 families used in treatment of several diseases such as skin diseases, diarrhoea, dysentery, gastritis, wormicide, gonorrhea, cough, cold, diabetes, indigestion, dyspepsia, headache, migraine and throat infections. Botanical name, family, local name, plant part used, traditional uses, methods of preparation of drugs and dosages are provided for each plant species.
