A New Species of the Genus Scathophaga Meigen, 1803 (Diptera, Scathophagidae) from Yakutia (Russia)1

A new species, Scathophaga yakutica sp. n. (Diptera, Scathophagidae), is described and illustrated based on specimens from Yakutia. Key for the differentiation of the new species from related species is given.Scathophaga Meigen, 1803 is one of the largest genera within the family Scathophagidae. Scathophaga is distinguished from other genera of the Scathophagidae by the following combination of characters: (1) anepisternum covered with hairs completely or almost completely, with hairs adjacent to anterior thoracic spiracle, (2) katepisternum with one strong seta (in the upper posterior corner), (3) middle tibia without long and strong anterior seta at mid-length, (4) postmetacoxal bridge absent.
