ILMA's Board of Directors recently created the Legislative Affairs Committee,in part,to recommend Association positions on legislation important to independent lubricant manufacturers. But positions on legislation and hired lobbyists are not enough. At some point,it becomes important for individual ILMA members to visit their elected representatives to let them know how you and the industry feel on a particular issue.I am fond of saying that it is the constituents who have clout, not the "hired guns" in Washington,D.C. Such visits are important for your business. It is not a daunting task. Here are some pointers to help you make a difference.
