We cover energy use as well as supply in this magazine.Reducing wastage,buying well and employing on-site generation and storage are fundamental demand-side imperatives.So,we include articles on low carbon initiatives in the distilling industry;power purchase agreements with renewable generators;and on-site energy storage-both heating and cooling-in our energy management feature.The second theme is skills and training.We ask how East Anglia is gearing up to train the workforce drawn to its many new North Sea wind farms;we interview an energy manager working in the civil engineering industry about her work;and we look at the new skills needed for the decarbonisation of heat.
