The midpoint of any year is an opportune time to both reflect and look ahead. Ringing in 2015, I foresaw a few legal and regulatory issues primed to influence manufacturers, including disjointed marijuana laws, increasingly severe bribery penalties and patent law shifts. Looking ahead, I see three broader issues that, while not new, will continue to shape the industry in 2015 and beyond — an outsized U.S. corporate tax system, the oil export ban and mounting pressure for more robust trade policy. Together these six issues make up what I'll call the "headwinds to manufacturing growth" in 2015.
