OSHA Advisory Committee Considers PEL Recommendations

The Federal Advisory Council on Occupational Safety and Health (FACOSH) recently considered recommendations on permissible exposure limits (PELs) from its Emerging Issues Subcommittee. In part, the Subcommittee recommended that Executive branch departments and agencies should be directed to use the most protective occupation exposure limits (OELs), notwithstanding the existence of an Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) PEL for a given chemical or substance of concern.
