Venezuela: Where Is Juan Guaido?

It's not difficult to pick Venezuela's National Assembly president, Juan Guaido, out in a crowd. In 2020 alone, Guaido has delivered a speech at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, received a standing ovation at US President Donald Trump's State of the Union Address, and was filmed trying, unsuccessfully, to force his way into the National Assembly to block an effort by members loyal to Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro to vote to replace him. The problem for Guaido hasn't been his visibility, but rather his viability. It has been nearly a year since Guaido took to the streets of Caracas in an abortive coup attempt intended to remove Maduro from office. Since that time, Guaido's political momentum has stalled, and his political profile all but disappeared, as Maduro becomes further entrenched in power.
