Demand response is valuable. To an industry insider, services from a customer's DER against a capacity or performance payment is a rational (and increasingly obvious) exchange. In short, we want customers to want to help us. However, we regularly ignore that a consumer's investment in that 'resource' is rarely just financial. We are preaching, rather than reaching out.
