WIND POWER AND UBER AS DISRUPTIVE TECHNOLOGIES

What do wind power and Uber have in common? They are both disruptive technologies that impact on conventional business models. I have been using Uber regularly for the past six months. I can see why the taxi industry is worried. All the taxi industry regulations around pricing, vehicle quality, driver registration and limiting the number of taxis on our roads are no longer working in the interests of taxi customers. Uber, with its smart phone apps has come up with a system that is far superior to what is on offer from conventional taxis. It is a clear example of a disruptive technology reforming the conventional business model in ways that benefit customers.
