A 'Specification' For Metal Removal Fluids

At the 2004 ILMA Management Forum,a request came to the Metalworking Fluids Committee regarding their inter-est in participating in the review of a specification for metal removal fluids that was developed by the Society of Automotive Engineers' (SAE) Industrial Lubricants Committee.An ILMA group was formed that has now grown to about 20 members representing many of the metalworking fluid manufacturers.I have been coordinating the conference calls of this group within ILMA,as well as with the SAE group.Here is a brief summary of our work so far.
