Pilbara underground network to protect against cyclones

The last house in Nickol, Karratha, has been connected to the underground network in November under the Pilbara Underground Power Project (PUPP). The project means all Pilbara residents will have access to reliable electricity during the cyclone season. Electrical contractor Electech WA finished the work well ahead of schedule, ensuring all properties would be connected to the network before any potential cyclones.
