ExxonMobil’s 1.5mn t/yr ethane cracker in Baytown, Texas, had an unplanned shutdown of its compressor on 28 February. The compressor shutdown resulted in an estimated 8,210 lb of gaseous ethylene being fared, according to a company fling with the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality. Mainte- nance teams were able to return the fare to normal opera- tions on 1 March after 18 hours.
