State-operated mining frm Coal India (CIL) recently opened an electronic auction for the cement sector, with high interest reported in the first auctions yesterday. CIL is ofering 4.66mn t of coal with grades ranging from G3 (GCV 6,400-6,700 kcal/kg) to G13 (GCV 3,400-3,700 kcal/kg) over 7-21 August. Around 1.14mn t of the e-auction coal will be delivered by rail, while the majority of tonnes will be trans- ported by road.
