US refners informed investors of a handful of planned turn- arounds for this fall in second-quarter earnings calls over the past week. BP said it plans to perform major turnaround work at its 410,000 b/d Whiting refnery in Indiana. The turnaround, including work on a crude unit, is expected to begin on 1 Sep- tember and end on 20 October.
