India’s Saudi coke imports fell sharply in August

India received only two vessels of petroleum coke from Saudi Arabia in August, with shipments totalling 81,000t, the lowest volume since April 2017. The country has long been India’s second largest supplier after the US. But shipments fell sharply in August, the latest month for which shipping data are available. August volumes were more than 75pc lower than a year earlier, and about 50pc below July’s total.
