Turkey’s petroleum coke imports rose steeply during the frst quarter of this year, reaching the highest level since at least 2014. Turkey received 1.5mn t of coke in the frst three months of 2018, up by 446,000t, or 42pc, on the year, the most recent data from Turkish statistical agency Tuik show. Deliveries were also 346,000t higher than the previous quarter, when total imports stood at 1.1mn t. Almost 526,000t of coke cleared Turkish customs in March, over 20pc more than a year earlier.
