Rusal secures Russian cathode block supply

Russian aluminium producer Rusal has secured a fve-year contract for cathode block supply from Russian carbon and graphite producer Energoprom. Energoprom will supply Rusal with 21,500t/yr of cathode blocks over 2018-2022 at a fxed price, covering 70pc of Rusal’s annual consumption. Cathode blocks are used for the lining of side walls and the bottom of pots in aluminium smelting.
