US Commerce submits steel Section 232 report

The US Commerce Department last week submitted the results of its Section 232 investigation into the efects of steel im- ports on US national security. Commerce submitted the report in advance of a statutory deadline on 15 January but did not release any details of its findings or recommendations, the department said on 11 January. The president now has 90 days to decide on any potential action, which may include setting tarifs or quotas on import- ed steel.
