RIL’s gasifers to raise petroleum coke imports

Indian private-sector refiner Reliance Industries (RIL) may need to import 2mn-3mn t/yr of petroleum coke once it brings on line all 10 of its planned gasifers near its refinery complex at Jamnagar on the west coast. The 1.24mn b/d Jamnagar refinery is testing and stabilising its frst four gasifers, which should be in operation by March. Attention will then shift to the remaining six gasifers, with all 10 expected to be up and running before March 2019.
