China has dominated the Colombian petroleum coke export market in the frst eight months of this year, taking more than 75pc of all shipments. The country’s sole coke producer, state-controlled Eco- petrol’s 165,000 b/d Cartagena refinery, known as Refcar, exported more than 300,800t of petroleum coke to China in January-August. This was about 77pc of the total of roughly 392,200t, according to a shipping agency.
