New York-listed shipowner and operator Dorian LPG and Dan- ish shipping frm Maersk expressed different views of marine exhaust scrubbers as a mechanism for complying with marine fuel emissions regulations. At Capital Link’s New York Maritime forum this week, John Lycouris, chief executive of Dorian noted that scrubbers have GPS technology, which can pinpoint with accuracy the location in international or national waters where the scrubber was used as well as the type of fuel that was burned. Port authori- ties can use the scrubber GPS records to review compliance.
