China continued to reduce its exports of unwrought aluminium and aluminium products in February, although at a more gradual pace than the large fall a year earlier. Aluminium exports fell by 2.1pc on the year to 260,000t in February, the 14th consecutive month in which shipments have declined since aluminium prices began to rise in December 2015. China reduced its aluminium exports by 15,000t on aver- age in the frst two months of 2017 compared with last year, when February exports fell by 22.3pc on the year to 280,000t.
