China exceeds coal import limit for 2019

China has surpassed the full-year 2019 limit it set for coal im- ports, despite the tighter curbs it started imposing since late October. Imports, including anthracite, coking coal and thermal coal, reached 299.3mn t in January-November, preliminary customs data show. This already marks a rise from 2018 total annual receipts of 281mn t - the same amount set by the Chinese government early this year as the limit for 2019 coal imports.
