SK Innovation to build second battery plant in China

South Korean battery manufacturer SK Innovation is set to build an electric vehicle (EV) power battery plant in Yancheng city in east China’s Jiangsu province. Once completed, the new plant - with a total invest- ment of $1.05bn - is expected to supply power batteries to South Korean automaker Kia Motors’ production facility, also in Yancheng. Other details, such as the plant’s capacity and launch date, are not yet available.
