California refneries cut to lowest levels in years

California refneries in the week ended 3 April cut crude processing and some fuel production to their lowest levels in decades as the state’s downstream industry worked to match transportation frozen under Covid-19 restrictions. Refnery throughputs and CARBOB and jet fuel output dropped to record lows for California Energy Commission (CEC) data that began in April 1999. National gasoline demand for the week fell to the lowest levels since the early 1990s, and gasoline production to the lowest level since 1995, according to the Energy Information Administration.
