Anode coke: Prices slip amid smelting cuts

Prices for US Gulf coast anode-grade green petroleum coke slipped in August as refiners lowered offers amid weaker aluminium prices and the potential for more US smelters to suspend operations. The delivered US Gulf coast 3pc sulphur dry basis green coke price shed $9/t in the latest month to $125/t. Imported 0.8pc sulphur dry basis, less than 150ppm vanadium green coke declined by $10 to $230/t cif US Gulf.
