Chinese customs detained a cargo of high-sulphur petroleum coke in north China, according to market participants, reviving traders’ concerns over the country’s import policy on high- sulphur shipments. The cargo in question is a shipment of anode-grade coke with 8.5pc sulphur from Taiwan. Customs ofcers at Rizhao port in Shandong province have blocked it for more than a week after identifying it as “solid waste”.
