BELL,William(Bill)-(1960 - 2018)graduated with an Honours Bachelor of Science in Geology from the University of Western Ontario then moved to Calgary where he worked for several oil and gas companies,including: Tenneco,Mana Resources,Barnwell,and Bonanza Petroleum as VP,exploration.He was involved in discovering several oil fields in Alberta,including Countess,Lathom,Rockyford,and Long Coulee and was instrumental in the discovery of the Brazo County,Texas oilfields.He is remembered as an accomplished geologist and oilman in Calgary whose career spanned over 60 years,closing as president of Bellport Resources.Bill is survived by his wife of 58 years,Irene(Walasko)Bell,son James(Carla)Bell,daughter Allison(Yogi)Kim,and five grandchildren plus many relatives and friends,his granddaughters Norah and Audrey Bell.Bill generously supported The United Way,The University of Calgary,The University of Western Ontario,The Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra,The Theatre Company in Port Stanley,and numerous other charitable causes.
