摘要

Chlorophyll-a (ChU-a) is a water quality parameter that currently can be acquired by using remote sensing technology. Presently number of algorithm developed over different region shows that the algorithms are highly regional dependence. However, there are still a challenge to accurately estimate Chll-a concentration by using remote sensing in diverse water such as over turbid coastal water (Case 2) that dominated by a combination of phytoplankton, non-algal particulate matter, and coloured dissolvedorganic matter. The main objective of this study is to develop Chll-a algorithm over Teluk Lipat, Malaysia utilizing Landsat and in-situ dataset. A field trip was conducted over the study area concurrent with the Landsat 8 bypass. In total, 30 sample for 30 sampling point was taken during the trip. The sample is then analysis using established method to obtain the Chll-a concentration. The relationship between the in-situ Chll-a and the remote sensing reflectance is obtained by using regression analysis technique. The result shows that the ChU-a over the study area are highly correlate with Modified Normalized Difference Water Index (MNDWI), with R2 = 0.7626. Algorithm is then tested over the study area and the ChU-a map was constructed.
