In further work packages of the "Hy-BaVli" project already described in PTS News issue 01/16, the newly developed hybrid basalt nonwovens were processed to so-called organic sheets and the resulting mechanical properties were analysed. The basalt fibres in hybrid nonwovens must be completely wetted with the matrix material to achieve optimal mechanical properties.
