摘要

The essay provides broad insights to the various aspects of the history, present and future of transnational black feminism and its ability to provide an intersectional perspective on power relations. Looking back to the early times of Pan-Africanism, the essay illustrates the activities of black women within this social and political movement that are hardly recognized in the historiography. Furthermore, the author describes how the political and cultural forms women activists used and still are using is being ref lected by feminist scholars and discusses a "culturalist" bias of analyses that tends to ignore important inf luences of politics, society and economy.
