An exact theory presented here accounting for all orders of scattering interactions, yields significantly different results from second-order theory the author developed earlier. The limitation of application for the multiple scattering method are investigated. The theory of fractals was invoked in order to deal with the sound attenuation in the sediments in nature and the comparisons between the theory and the experimental data are made. [References: 22]
