摘要

Community noise control represents a challenge to architects, acoustical engineers, civil engineers, etc.. This study, using data gathered from a community widely affected by noise contamination, located near the city of Valencia, Spain, presents the possibility of developinga relationship between the noise level emitted and the degree of annoyance perceived by the residents of this community. Based on two questions taken from a survey given as a part of the study and the noise levels we measured, polynomial expressions have been developed that enable us to obtain the number of people affected by a specific degree of annoyance based on the noise level measured at a specific time of the day, (between 8 am and 8 pm) and to obtain the equivalent noise level during the time interval between 8 am and 8 pm based on the degree of annoyance perceived.
