A tripeptide enhancing the skin's natural defences

Miriam Mateu from Lipotec presents Bodyfertsine, a tripeptide, which prevents the invasion of harmful microorganisms by stimulating the natural line of defence between the skin and the environment. In vivo it decreases the presence of sebum, smoothing the texture and reducing skin redness, and reducing the presence of pimples in acne-prone skin.Skin is constantly exposed to injury and challenged by environmental microorganisms with the stratum corneum (SC) being the skin's first protective barrier against external aggressions. Normal human skin is colonised by large numbers of microorganisms, most of which live harmlessly as commensals without causing clinical disease1. Environmental, physiological, biochemical, mechanical and immunological variables contribute to maintaining a healthy balance between the skin and its normal flora.
