An Effective Integration of Smart Phone's APPs for Bicycle Riders

摘要

Via the build-in hardware components of smart phones, this work proposes an effective APP integration aimed for bike riders. The resulted system consists of the four main functions, i.e., bike stopwatch, map navigation, music playing and emergency call. For the bike stopwatch the GPS information is applied to implement the specific statistical information, such as riding speed, distance, calorie consumption and carbon reduction, while the signals of the gravity sensor is used to develop the proposed mechanism of slope detection. Through combining with the relative services of Google Maps into our proposed system, users are able to inquire about their current and historical trajectories, and make the required path planning or location searching. In addition, by integrating the functions of emergent calls and music playing into the proposed system, the unnecessary switching steps between different APPs can be erased. In summary, via this proposed mechanism users can easily, effectively and precisely operate their smart phones, under a relatively safer condition.
