In the paper, a cloud computing based intelligent e-pedigree system with quality assessment and auto foolproof was proposed. The e-pedigree systems have been widely recognized and applied in food safety. In order to develop an intelligent e-pedigree system, it is necessary to think about cloud computing, quality assessment and auto foolproof, which contribute the system more to food safety. Hence, we developed a cloud computing based intelligent e-pedigree system with quality assessment and auto foolproof to achieve better food safety. The architecture of the system contains: (1) Cloud database structure (2) Auto foolproof (3) Quality assessment engine (4) Human-Machine-Interface for e-pedigree. We used Microsoft SQL Azure as the cloud database to scatter and store data from workers in redundant disk arrays. For foolproof, the related data would be automatically calculated and output in the cloud database. After auto foolproof checking, the quality assessment engine was used to predict food quality by using neural networks. The quality assessment engine contained quality input factors and prediction outputs. And then ASP.NET was used to program a human-machine interface with real-time data updating, providing a real-time food e-pedigree available at anytime, anywhere through the interface. Through the experiments, a cloud computing based intelligent e-pedigree system with quality assessment and auto foolproof was proposed. The e-pedigree systems could be put into practice. The proven advantages of low cost, performance scalability, mobile management and effective safety, make it important to develop a cloud computing based intelligent e-pedigree system with quality assessment and auto foolproof.
