A Study on the Conceptual Design Method Based on Extension Method

摘要

Conceptual Design is a complex process, including divergent thinking and creative design. The process of conceptual design leads to optimal plans satisfying the required functions, technical and economical index. This research focuses on the core technology of the conceptual design of product to study the modelization method of innovation of function-principle-layout- configuration design. At the same time, it is put forward that the new method of conceptual design of product based on extension method and Su-Field analytic method on the basis of researching the present situation of conceptual design. Its content, characters, path and method of researching are discussed in detail, and applied on the process of product design scheme. In addition, the SCAMPER method is applied to assist extending-tree method and the optimal appraisal method, two of extension methods. The system for design decision-making will be developed and an innovative design case, staple free stapler, successfully demonstrates that the proposed design process is feasible and efficient.
