In this paper we present a robust frequency offset estimation algorithm using the relationship among adjacent packets for inter-vehicle communication systems. We demonstrate about the relationship among adjacent packets in inter-vehicle communication environment, and modify conventional frequency offset estimation algorithm using this relationship. The proposed algorithm compares the integral frequency offset (IFO) estimated from the current packet with the carrier frequency offsets (CFO) estimated from previous packets, and selects the most reliable frequency offset among them. The selected frequency offset is used as the IFO to estimate the CFO for the current packet. Therefore, it minimizes the probability that the IFO estimation will fail. The simulation results show that the proposed algorithm performs better than the baseline algorithm, when SNR is below 2 dB on ε = 0.743 and ε = 0.246.
