Moravia brevipes (Crustacea: Copepoda) in South Bohemian forest soils

Abundance and phenology data are provided for the copepod Moraria brevipes (Sars, 1863) (Canthocamptidae) in three types of woodland habitat in the Sumava Mountains, Czech Republic: living spruce forests, dead spruce forests after bark-beetle attack and clearings. Highest densities (>200><103 indxm2) were recorded in June at a site one year after clearcutting and in a dead spruce stand. Peaks in abundance were associated with large accumulations oflitter.
