摘要

On the basis of experimental tests, of which the main objective is to study the mechanical behaviour of the stiffeners in the steel protective structure impacted by oval nosed cylindrical projectiles in this paper, the modes of destruction due to the effects of stiffeners and the effects of the rigidity and the thickness of stiffener are studied preliminarily. According to the results of the numerical simulation, which the numerical simulation calculation parameters are determined by the experimental test results, the influence of the geometry parameters of stiffener on the ballistic parameters of projectile and on the protective structure's deformation range are quantitatively analyzed. This study could be helpful in the design of the protective structures with stiffeners.
